It definitely needs a border on the right side of the white content because it looks like it just disappears into the background.

I disagree - I love that effect. With such hard lines seperating the content from the background in the rest of the design (eg., the header), the line between the background and content is implied.

Except for it's not. ;)
It may work on a different background, but with a white text background and a white body background, it looks unfinished.
